I am the Associate Pastor at Emmanuel Church. My focus in ministry involves both our older members and our children's ministry.
I had a pastorate in Glenville, WV and served as an Area Minister for the West Virginia Baptist Convention.
I was born in Parkersburg and grew up in Mineral Wells. I am a graduate of Parkersburg High School (1967), Alderson-Broaddus College (1971), and Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary (1974). I was the Youth Director at Calvary Community Baptist Church in Pennsauken, NJ (1972-74); pastor of Harrisville Baptist Church in Harrisville, WV (1974-81); pastor of the First Baptist Church of Glenville in Glenville, WV (1981-1990). I was also Director of Church Relations at Alderson-Broaddus College (1990-92); Minister of World Mission Support of the West Virginia Baptist Convention (1992-94); Area Minister of the West Virginia Baptist Convention (1994-96); Interim Pastor of Newark Baptist Church in Newark, WV (1996).
I became the Associate Pastor at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Parkersburg, WV on June 1, 1997. My primary duties include the Senior Adult Ministries, oversight of Children’s Ministries, preach on Sunday evening, visitation, and work with several of the Ministry Teams on the Board of Ministry.
I married Linda Edwards in 1971. Linda is a substitute aide in the Wood County School system. We have three adult children: Kathy Wince (1976), Karla Thomas (1978), and Kevin (1981). We also have five grandsons: Jared, Aaron, Anthony and Noah Wince and William Thomas. In enjoy photography, traveling, and being with family.
In my ministry I have stressed how everyone is a minister and I have encouraged each person to discover and utilize his/her gifts in ministry. |
