Divorce Care / Tuesdays at 6 p.m.

Divorce Care will resume weekly on Tuesday evenings, September 12 at 6 p.m.   DivorceCare is for people who are looking for support as they work through the issues related to separation and divorce.  A DivorceCare group will begin meeting on Tuesday, September 12th from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Church Parlor. Led by Barbara Kirsch, the sessions include a video, group discussion and a personal workbook. This is a warm and caring environment. Everyone is Welcome. Grief Share Wednesday at 6 p.m.

The GRIEFSHARE Support Group will resume weekly on Wednesday evenings, September 20 at 6 p.m.  Grief is defined as conflicting feelings caused by the end of or change to a familiar pattern of behavior. Generally, grief is connected to loss but there are many life events that can lead to grief: death of a loved one, loss of a job, change of residence, retirement, just to name a few.

Grief Share is a 13-week Bible based SUPPORT GROUP sponsored by Emmanuel Baptist Church and designed for those who are experiencing grief. During our time together we will discuss topics like “what is normal”, “what’s next”, challenges to grief, anger, guilt and being “stuck”. Breaking Free Recovery Thursday 6 pm

Breaking Free meets every Thursday night at 6 p.m.

As a single parent, you know there aren’t many people who truly understand the unique challenges you face. You deeply desire to do what’s best for your kids, and you worry that you aren’t. October 18 at 12:00 p.m. – Basics of Alzheimer’s… This workshop covers what you need to know about Alzheimer’s diseas and dementia, including information on detection, causes and risk factors, stages of the disease, treatment and much more.

November 16 at 11:00 a.m. – Know the 10 Signs… This workshoop aims to increase awareness of the warning signs of Alzheimer’s, the benefits of early detection and diagnosis and it also addresses common myths about
dementia.

December 15 at 10:00 a.m. – Effective Communication Strategies…. As people with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias progress in their journey and the ability to use words is lost, families need new ways to connect. Join us to explore how communication takes place when someone has Alzheimer’s, learn to decode the verbal and behavioral messages delivered by someone with dementia, and identify strategies to help you connect and communicate at each stage of the disease.

Men’s Support Groups

A men’s support group meets at Emmanuel every first and third Wednesday at 7 p.m.

MOPS / Mother’s of Pre – Schoolers first and third Tuesdays at 9 a.m.

MOPS / Mothers of PreSchoolers meets one the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 9 a.m. beginning September 19. Young moms often feel lonely and isolated and need the basic support and encouragement from other moms who are facing the same challenges.
